Rhea of Thorolund

Overview

Location

Four locations in sequence: (1) Firelink Shrine, arriving after the Capra Demon is defeated; (2) Tomb of the Giants, in the pit where Patches kicks the player down, asking for help finding her companions Vince and Nico; (3) Undead Parish, praying at the church altar after being rescued; (4) The Duke's Archives, hollowed in a prison cell, if the Archive Tower Extra Key is used.

Access condition

Her Duke's Archives fate (kidnapped by a Channeler) is triggered if the player purchases all of her miracles before she is otherwise saved.

Can die

yes

Death or hostility conditions

In Undead Parish, she dies if the player defeats two of the following bosses after her rescue: Gaping Dragon, Bell Gargoyles, Crossbreed Priscilla, Sif, Gravelord Nito, Chaos Witch Quelaag, Bed of Chaos, Iron Golem, Ornstein & Smough, Four Kings, or Seath the Scaleless. If killed, drops 7 Humanity and an Ivory Talisman (12 Humanity total if the Dark Hand is equipped).

Keeps selling if hostile survives

not applicable -- her death via the boss-count trigger is scripted, not a combat encounter the player can win or lose

Dialogue progression

Rescued from the Tomb of the Giants pit she's kicked into by Patches, in exchange granting the Replenishment miracle. Her survival at Undead Parish requires either killing Petrus of Thorolund before the two-boss threshold is reached, or purchasing all of her miracles plus the Divine Blessing -- partial purchases do not prevent her death. Her fate is directly entangled with Petrus's betrayal arc; killing him prevents her scripted death (source notes this can also trigger bugs).

Relocates

yes

Relocation note

Firelink Shrine (arrival) -> Tomb of the Giants (kidnapped by Patches) -> Undead Parish (after rescue) -> optionally The Duke's Archives, hollowed in a cell (if her full miracle inventory is purchased and she's kidnapped by a Channeler).

Note

Completes the Petrus of Thorolund betrayal arc noted in that record -- read the two together.
