Credits & licensing
Mimic's Ledger is built on years of work by the Dark Souls community. The Ledger's job is to organize that work, keep track of where each number came from, and point back to it. Every record links the page or document it was taken from.
Main sources
- Dark Souls Wiki (darksouls.wikidot.com): the primary source for most weapon, shield, armor, ring, spell, item, boss, enemy, NPC and area records. Its content is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0. Credit belongs to the wiki's editors; each record links its wiki page, and that page's history lists who wrote it. - Dark Souls Wiki on Fandom (darksouls.fandom.com): used for scaling-curve analysis and cross-checks. Fandom community content is licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0. Visit the wiki
- Dark Souls Wiki on Wikispaces: closed in 2018. Records that cite it link to copies saved by the Internet Archive.
- Fextralife Dark Souls Wiki (darksouls.wiki.fextralife.com): consulted to cross-check figures and shown as a secondary source where used. Fextralife's content is not openly licensed and is not reproduced here; records link to the relevant Fextralife page instead. Visit the wiki
- Frame data: from the "dark_souls_animation_data" document by KC (The Lag Wizard), with the author's own caveats kept on each entry.
- Armor stat tables: from Raymond Hill's Dark Souls armor tables at raymondhill.net.
- Game-data tables: motion values, plus supplementary figures on many weapon, armor, shield, spell tool, enemy, boss and NPC records, come from BaileyCodes' DSR data tables (hosted on git.balls.studio), which that author derived from the game's data files. Each record that uses them names BaileyCodes as the source. Mimic's Ledger did not extract this data itself and does not host the source files.
- Other community research: Steam Community guides, Reddit posts, GameFAQs guides and articles, each credited and linked on the record that uses it.
Licensing of this site's text
Game numbers and mechanics are facts, and nobody owns them, including us. Where a record's wording is adapted from a CC BY-SA 3.0 source, that wording is shared under the same license, CC BY-SA 3.0, as the license requires. You are welcome to reuse it on the same terms: credit Mimic's Ledger and the original source, and share your version under the same license.
Trademarks
Dark Souls and related names belong to their owners. Mimic's Ledger is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by FromSoftware or Bandai Namco Entertainment. See the disclaimer.
