Overview

Location: Royal Wood. From Knight Artorias's arena, up the stairs opposite the Battle of Stoicism Gazebo, past a hole in the ground, then right across a bridge to a locked door.
Access condition: Requires the Crest Key (found during Oolacile Township exploration) to unlock the door to him.
Can die: yes
Death or hostility conditions: Becomes hostile only if attacked. Being blind, he fights via sound-based detection, making silence-based or hit-and-retreat tactics effective against him. If killed, drops his full armor set plus his greatbow (if it hasn't already been received as a story gift).
Keeps selling if hostile survives: not documented
Dialogue progression: On first meeting, warns the player about the black dragon Kalameet. If the player accepts his help, he cripples Kalameet so the fight can happen on the ground rather than airborne. After Kalameet is defeated, he gifts the player Gough's Greatbow through dialogue.
